Over the 60 years since the founding of the Xizang Autonomous Region, women in Xizang have been diligently contributing to the development of both the nation and their homeland, consistently playing the role of “holding up half the sky”. By the end of 2024, the female population in Xizang reached 1.75 million, accounting for approximately 47.3% of the total population. Women make up 40.2% of all employed persons in Xizang. Over the past six decades, the health standards of women in Xizang have significantly improved, and their right to education has been comprehensively guaranteed.
